Research, not advice

All content and data are for research and information only. Nothing here is investment, trading, or financial advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any contract. Scopes observes and measures markets; it does not forecast, advise, or recommend.

Accounts & API keys

You are responsible for activity under your account and any API key you issue, and for keeping keys secret. Keys inherit the entitlements of the issuing account at request time. Do not share keys or use them to provide the data to third parties as a service.

Access tiers, quotas & credits

Free access is delayed (roughly 24 hours), limited to a trailing window, rate-limited, and returns computed summaries only. Live data, deeper history, and higher quotas require a paid API plan; a human seat subscription is separate and does not by itself grant automated API access. Usage is metered by calls: each plan includes a monthly call quota, and over-quota calls draw down prepaid credits. When the quota and credits are exhausted, further calls are declined (HTTP 429) until you top up or the quota resets. Per-key and per-day rate limits also apply. Included quotas and credits are non-refundable and do not carry more than as described on the plan.

Permitted use & no resale

API plans are licensed for internal research and evaluation use only. Production deployment, redistribution, derived commercial products, and multi-team use require a Scopes Reference data license.

Subject to your plan, you may use the data for your own internal research and for display within your product or reporting, with attribution. You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or make the data available to others as a substitute for a Scopes subscription, and you may not bulk-export, scrape, or circumvent the published rate limits. Larger or redistribution use is available under a separate data license: contact us.

Attribution

When citing figures, attribute them to Scopes with a link. Every figure is a calculation with a permalink and a methodology_version. API and MCP responses also return a machine-readable pointer to these terms in the X-Scopes-Terms header.

AI training & model use

You may use the data at inference time within agents and applications (that is what the API and MCP server are for). Using the data to train, fine-tune, or distill machine-learning models, or to create a derived dataset or model weights that substitute for Scopes, requires a separate license: contact us.

No warranty & liability

Data is provided “as is,” without warranty of accuracy, completeness, availability, or fitness for a purpose. Scopes is not liable for decisions made in reliance on it. If a data error is found, figures may be restated; restatements are dated and noted.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves; material changes will be reflected here with a new date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
