The Scopes Desk

What it measures

How well each venue’s prices have been calibrated against realized outcomes, scored by venue, by desk and by horizon. Calibration is measured against what actually happened, not against any estimate of what was anticipated.

What it does not score

The Scopes Fair Value. The index scores the market’s prices only; the Scopes Fair Value is an independent reference and is never an input to, nor scored by, the index.

Rules published in advance

The scoring rules, universe, and horizons are fixed and published before the period they score. From a timestamped, append-only record, so a past value cannot be re-cut. Corrections are appended and disclosed, never overwritten.

Versioned

This is v0.9, a consultation draft. v1.0 is effective October 24, 2026; first values publish November 5, 2026. Changes launch as a new version alongside the old; a published value is never altered after publication.
