Privacy

What we collect

• Account. Your email address, used for magic-link sign-in and account-related messages.
• Billing. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and your plan/entitlement, not your card number.
• API usage. If you create an API key, we record request counts, timestamps, and quota/credit usage for metering and billing.
• Ask Scope. Messages you send to the in-app assistant are processed to generate a reply, and we log usage events for abuse-prevention and metering. We do not retain your conversation history beyond those metered events.
• Email list. If you join a waitlist or newsletter, we store your email until you unsubscribe.
• Operational logs. Our hosting provider processes standard request logs (including IP address and user agent) for security and reliability.

Cookies

Scopes sets only strictly-necessary and functional first-party cookies, your authenticated session, and a short-lived cookie used to show a newly-created API key once. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or third-party analytics, so there is no consent banner to manage. If we ever add analytics or advertising, we'll update this page and provide the appropriate controls.

How we use it

To authenticate you, provide the service and your entitlements, take payment, prevent abuse, send transactional and opted-in newsletter email, and operate and improve the product. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.

Service providers

We rely on a small set of providers that process data on our behalf, under their own security and privacy terms:

• Supabase: database and authentication.
• Vercel: hosting, infrastructure, and request logs.
• Stripe: payment processing.
• Resend: transactional and newsletter email delivery.
• Anthropic: powers Ask Scope and issue drafting. Messages you send to Ask Scope are processed by Anthropic's API to generate a reply; under its commercial API terms, those inputs are not used to train models.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are defined under California law). There are no ad networks or data brokers in the loop.

Retention

We keep account and billing data while your account is active and as needed for legal and accounting obligations. Operational logs are kept for a limited period. You can ask us to delete your account data.

Your choices

You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data by emailing hello@scopes.com. Newsletter emails include an unsubscribe link; transactional messages (sign-in, billing) are necessary to provide the service. California residents have the right to access and delete their data and to opt out of any sale or sharing, and, as noted above, we do not sell or share personal information.

Children

Scopes is not directed to children and is intended for adults.
